Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is safety testing used in the UK to ensure that electrical appliances are safe to use. This involves inspecting and testing electrical equipment and appliances, to ensure they are safe to use and free from any defects or damage that could cause harm.
PAT testing is recommended by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and is often required by insurance companies and councils to ensure compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations.
